Our activities

One of key projects for the next three years is the junior playground makeover. More information on this project can be found on the Junior Makeover Ideas page. We are, however, also engaged in on-going improvements in all outdoor areas of the school.

This is an open forum so please feel free to leave your ideas and comments on this blog, and share the web address https://bpsplaygrounds.wordpress.com/ with other families at the school.

  1. Hi everyone. The bottom area, below the junior playground would be a fabulous place to reclaim as a native habitat and plant a native garden with walking paths as it is not reticulated or fenced hence using it as a school vegetable garden or fruit orchard may pose problems however both could be an asset to the community.
Classes could then visit the area and use it for science investigations and students could participate in plantings on arbor day etc.

  2. We think a loose parts playground would be a great idea because it would be relaxing, and it would be great entertainment for kids. It would also be fun for kids. We could build bug habitats and grow native plants. It would be a good area for the senior students to play in.

    • One easy way the students can learn about plants is to include signs beneath the trees and plants in our gardens, giving each plant’s botanical and common names, and its country/State of origin. The students could be involved by designing and writing the signs.

  4. The students in room 10 have written persuasive letters to Mr Hovitch with the things they would like to see included in the new play area. These are: a tree house, tree logs, a fish pond, fruit trees, stepping stones, a sand pit, and a bird watching tower.
